Term 2 Week 9

Ladybird Houses
Last Friday we finished our ladybird houses. Ladybirds' favourite colours are pink, yellow and light blue so we chose to paint their houses in those colours.  We each drew a ladybird picture as well.

Go Louise!
Waiting for instructions to start!
We put in sponges, bamboo and straw.

Keep going girls!

The bamboo tunnels will be the ladybirds homes and keep them safe. The pots will go into the garden  in the spring. The ladybirds will keep our gardens safe and healthy. Ladybirds eat aphids and whitefly. In the autumn and winter the ladybirds are hibernating. They are active in the spring and summer. The sponges in the pots will be soaked in either perfume or sugar water which will attract the ladybirds to their new home.  We hope you like our finished ladybird houses.
