Term 2 Week 8

Hello Everyone
We have been very busy with assessments and making fabulous enclosures for our animals. After researching information about their chosen animals, the girls each designed a floor plan of how they wanted the enclosure. They had to consider what food, shelter, water source and activities to challenge and entertain the animals would be included in the enclosure. Then the fun began! Having decided what materials they needed to make their desired enclosures, the girls got to work! Thank you to Mrs Buller, Mrs Masefield, Mrs Noma and Mrs Hay for helping us. I am very proud of the girls because most of them had a very clear understanding of how they wanted them to look and how to achieve it. Please look below at some of our photos. If you come to school you will see them proudly displayed in the Year One Whanau area.
Annabelle and Louise adding the final details!
Sivakami and Natalie happy with their final product!

Don't they look fantastic grouped together! Well done girls.
On Thursday and Friday Mrs Burson (with parent help) very kindly stepped in to supervise the making of the clay animals. These will need to dry before we can paint them and put them into our waiting enclosures. I can't wait to see these! Photos in next blog.

Mrs McRae very kindly invited the Year 1 classes for morning tea in the School House dining room on Wednesday. She discussed with the girls what happens within School House and what her job entails. The girls enjoyed a delicious morning tea and Mrs McRae read them some new picture books.

We felt very special and had a wonderful time.
